Lactoring IV is used to treat hypovolemia caused by surgery, hemorrhage and trauma. Excessive sweating, severe diarrhoea or vomiting, excess loss of fluid by nephritic kidneys, inadequate intake of fluid and electrolytes etc. that may lead to typical hypovolemic shock may be corrected with Lactoring. Severe plasma loss caused by intestinal obstruction, burns or other denuding conditions of the skin may be treated with Lactoring.

Lactoring IV is mainly used as a fluid and electrolyte replenisher. It may be used as an alternative to Sodium Bicarbonate in the treatment of metabolic acidosis associated with dehydration and to alkalinize urine.

Indication:

Dosage & Administration:
The volume and rate of infusion will depend upon the requirements of the patients and the judgment of the physician. It usually varies with age, weight and clinical condition of the patient. The recommended flow rate is up to 100-drops/minute/70 kg body weight.

Preparation:
Lactoring IV Infusion, 500 ml: Each 500 ml PP bottle contains solution of 0.6% w/v of Sodium Chloride, 0.04% w/v of Potassium Chloride, 0.027% w/v of Calcium Chloride, and 0.32 % w/v of Sodium Lactate.
Lactoring IV Infusion, 1000 ml: Each 1000 ml PP bottle contains solution of 0.6% w/v of Sodium Chloride, 0.04% w/v of Potassium Chloride, 0.027% w/v of Calcium Chloride, and 0.32 % w/v of Sodium Lactate.
